Who we are

Clique ("we," "us," or "our") is a mobile application that helps friend groups stay connected privately. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Clique app or visit cliqueapp.social.

The short version

We don't sell your data. We don't use an algorithm to curate your experience. Clique exists to connect you with the people you care about — that's it.

Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly:

• Account information — name, email address, and profile photo when you sign up
• Content you create — messages, photos, and other content you share within groups
• Group information — the groups you create or join, and their members

We also collect limited technical information automatically:

• Device type and operating system version
• App usage and crash data

How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Clique app
• Allow you to communicate with your groups
• Send transactional notifications (e.g., new messages in your groups)
• Diagnose bugs and improve app performance
• Respond to your support requests

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Referral attribution

When you visit Clique through a referral link, we temporarily collect your IP address to attribute the app download to the referral source. This data is stored for no more than 48 hours and is automatically deleted afterward. We do not use this information for any other purpose.

Firebase and third-party services

Clique uses Google Firebase to power its backend, including authentication, database storage, and crash reporting. Firebase may collect and process data in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.

Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Firebase servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Children's privacy

Clique is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, through the app. Continued use of Clique after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
